SARSCENE 2004, Calgary, Alberta October 13-16

SARSCENE 2004 in Calgary, Alberta will be the 13th annual workshop for search and rescue professionals from across Canada and around the world. SARSCENE 2004 will be co-hosted with Search and Rescue Alberta.

SARSCENE attracts about 700 participants including federal government representatives (Canadian Coast Guard, Canadian Forces, Meteorological Service of Canada, Parks Canada, RCMP and Transport Canada); provincial and municipal police force members; volunteers from ground, air and marine search and rescue; international search and rescue providers; canine handlers; weather specialists; and related emergency services personnel.

Location
Hyatt Regency, Calgary. A block of rooms has been reserved at $135 per night for SARSCENE delegates.

Presentations
The deadline for presentation proposals is April 30, 2004. See Call for Presenters for detailed requirements.

We are particularly interested in presentations that feature the following themes:

  • Multi-jurisdictional exercises
  • Working with volunteers
  • Innovative SAR technologies and techniques

We welcome proposals on these and other SAR-related topics.
