Phillip Jennex

2000 Outstanding SAR Achievement Award Winner

On behalf of the Honourable Art Eggleton, Minister of National Defence and Lead Minister for Search and Rescue (SAR), and the National Search and Rescue Secretariat (NSS), Hector Clouthier, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of National Defence, presented the Secretariat's 2000 Outstandi

ng Search and Rescue Achievement Award to Phillip Jennex, President for the Civil Air Search and Rescue Association (CASARA), Nova Scotia and Program Coordinator with the Canadian Coast Guard College has been awarded the Secretariat’s 2000 Outstanding Search and Rescue (SAR) Achievement Award.

The award was presented to Mr. Jennex at the Awards Banquet of the Canadian search and rescue workshop, SARSCENE 2000, in Laval, Quebec.

“Phillip has proven himself not only as a dedicated SAR volunteer but also as a leader and innovator,” commented the Hon. Eggleton. “His efforts in both the air and maritime areas of SAR are an example of the tremendous cooperation and innovation that SAR professionals and volunteers provide for Canada.”

Mr. Jennex has dedicated much of his spare time since high school to SAR, including more than 15 years of experience with CASARA. He is a graduate of and current program Coordinator with the Canadian Coast Guard College. Phillip Jennex’s work with SAR in Canada crosses jurisdictions and spans various levels, from instructing and participating in emergency situations, to acting to improve preventative methods.
