Ground Search and Rescue in Canada

National Ground Search and Rescue Council of Canada
The National Ground SAR Council of Canada represents the search and rescue authorities in the provinces and territories. The mission of the Council is to enhance the delivery of Ground Search and Rescue programs in Canada through the coordinated development of GSAR policies and programs.

Objectives of the Council
1.  To provide a forum to discuss Search and Rescue issues on a national basis.
2. To support the development of all aspects of Search and Rescue, including prevention, training, operations and organizations
3. To share information regarding Search and Rescue policies and programs among members.
4. To promote the development of policies and programs for Search and Rescue.
5. To work towards a consistent standard for Search and Rescue which can be adopted by all jurisdictions.

The National Search and Rescue Secretariat is the Secretariat for the National Ground SAR Council.
