Criteria for Presentations

We are particularly interested in presentations that feature the following themes:

  • Successful projects supported by the New SAR Initiatives Fund
  • Search and Rescue partnerships
  • Multi-jurisdictional exercises
  • Working with volunteers
  • Innovative SAR technologies and techniques
  • Equipment interoperability
  • Marine, air and ground SAR cooperation
  • SAR leadership and incident command
  • Prevention projects and best practices
  • Standards, case studies, lessons learned, trends and best practices
  • Weather forecasting and tracking
  • Statistical studies
  • Planning, management and evaluation of SAR resources
  • Working with the media
  • Fundraising
  • International cooperation

We welcome proposals on these and other SAR-related topics. Please include the following information in your proposal:

  • Presentation title
  • A 65-word description of the presentation as it will appear in the SARSCENE program
  • Name, position, organization, mailing address, telephone number and e-mail address of each presenter
  • Background on each presenter (maximum 55 words) as it will appear in the SARSCENE program
  • Audio-visual requirements
  • A head-and-shoulders photograph of the presenter(s).

Please note that it is the National Search and Rescue Secretariat's policy to provide one free workshop registration to the principal presenter. Any additional presenters are required to register as delegates for the workshop. Expenses and fees incurred by presenters cannot be reimbursed by the Secretariat. Advance copies of handouts in electronic format would be appreciated.
