Demonstrations
Beautiful
Lake Leamy Park, a ten-minute walk from the Hilton Lac Leamy, is the
setting for this year’s SAR demonstrations and displays on Saturday,
October 7th. Weather permitting, the displays are open to the
public from 12:00 to 1600, with live air and marine demonstrations
taking place at 13:00 on Lake Leamy.

The SAR
demonstrations are scheduled for 13:00 – 14:00, and will include:

Canadian Forces SAR CH-140 Griffon helicopter from 439
Squadron in Bagotville, QC
§
Canadian Forces Hercules SAR aircraft from 424 Squadron in
Trenton, ON
§
Sûreté du Québec vessels
The
demonstration will simulate the rescue of crew members from a vessel in
distress.

to 16:00, static displays are open to the public in Lake Leamy Park and
Parking Lot 5 of the Hilton Lac Leamy, including:

several K9 teams, including three teams from the Hamilton Police Search
and Rescue Unit (Ontario) and one team from the Sûreté du Québec as they
demonstrate the skills required of a SAR K9 in:

colleagues from the SAR community demonstrate the latest personal
flotation devices and rescue wear for the rescue professional and the
general public.
