Interdepartmental Committee on Search and Rescue (ICSAR)
ICSAR consists of senior officials representing federal departments and agencies involved in the National Search and Rescue program. The committee is responsible for advising the Lead Minister of Search and Rescue (LMSAR) and the government on issues related to search and rescue in Canada. Two sub-committees support the work of ICSAR: the Review Sub-Committee and the Coordination Sub-Committee.
ICSAR exists to provide interdepartmental co-ordination and advice to the Ministers in the areas of SAR policy, planning, resources, and effectiveness.
